The CM Punjab Rahmat Card (also written *Rehmat Card*, رحمت کارڈ) gives Rs 100,000 in financial help to Muslim widows and orphan children who are eligible for Zakat. The money comes from the Punjab Zakat Fund and is paid by the Zakat and Ushr Department straight into a JazzCash account. The government pays the transaction charges, so you receive the full amount.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz launched the scheme on 30 April 2026, with Rs 5 billion for about 50,000 widows and orphans.

Who is eligible
- Muslim widows and orphan children who qualify to receive Zakat under Shariah
- Selection uses the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry (PSER), with a quota for each district
- If you are not in PSER, your details are verified through NADRA
Not eligible:
- Government employees
- Pensioners
- People who are Sahib-e-Nisab, meaning they own enough wealth that Zakat is payable on it
How to apply
There are three ways to apply:
- Web portal: rahmatcard.punjab.gov.pk
- Mobile app: "CM Punjab Rahmat Card"
- Helpline: 1077, for applications, questions and complaints
Keep your CNIC ready, and for an orphan, the child's B-Form and the father's death certificate. Registering your household in the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry also helps, because selection uses PSER data.
Selection and payment
- Applications are checked against NADRA and PSER, and assessed against the eligibility rules.
- Eligible applicants go into a computerised ballot, with a quota for each district. The first ballot was held on 23 June 2026.
- Selected beneficiaries are paid through JazzCash. Payments began in late July 2026.
Is registration open now?
As of 24 September 2026, the first round has moved from selection to payments, and no date for a new round of applications has been announced. Call 1077 to ask whether applications are being accepted.
"Widow Sahara Card" and other names
In February 2026, before the launch, media reported a "Widow Sahara Card" with similar amounts. It appears to be the same initiative under an earlier name. We found no separate official portal for it. Apply only through the Rahmat Card channels above.
Some websites claim extra amounts per child, up to Rs 150,000 per family. The launch announcements give Rs 100,000 per beneficiary.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a fee to apply for the Rahmat Card?
No. Applying is free, and the government pays the JazzCash transaction charges.
Can a widow who is not Muslim apply?
The Rahmat Card is paid from the Zakat Fund, so it is for Muslim widows and orphans. Punjab's minority communities have a separate scheme: see the CM Punjab Minority Card.
My husband was a government employee. Can I apply?
Government employees and pensioners are excluded. If you receive a family pension, check with helpline 1077 whether you can apply.
