Ask for ration, medical or money help

Maryam Ko Batain is the Punjab government's relief and grievance system. The name means "tell Maryam", and it is spelled many ways: *Maryam Ko Batayn, Batayen, Bataye, Batao, Btayen*. You ask for help by calling helpline 1000, using the Maryam Ko Batayn app, or on the web portal. Your request is checked against the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry (PSER). If you are approved, cash assistance is paid through JazzCash.

It started in Ramzan 2026 for families who had missed the Nigehban Card. In September 2026 the Chief Minister said it would continue beyond Ramzan for people facing financial hardship.

The app also handles grievances and lets you track your request.

How to apply: 1000, app or website

• Call 1000 from any phone and give your CNIC details to the operator.
• Use the app "Maryam Ko Batayn", published by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) on Google Play and the App Store. Register with your CNIC.
• Use the web portal, mkb.punjab.gov.pk, and enter your CNIC.

In the first ten days in 2026, over 1.1 million people registered: about 910,000 through the app, 140,000 through 1000 and 50,000 through the website.

Who is eligible

• Your CNIC is checked against the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry (PSER), which scores households by need.
• In Ramzan 2026, people already getting the Nigehban Card, Ration Card, BISP or the federal Ramzan package were not eligible for the Rs 10,000.
• If you are not in PSER yet, you can still apply. New applicants took about four days to process, against 24 hours for people already in the registry. Registering in PSER speeds things up.

How you receive the money

• Approved assistance, Rs 10,000 in the 2026 rounds, is sent to a JazzCash account on your CNIC.
• You can collect cash at a JazzCash agent with your CNIC and a biometric (thumbprint) check. You do not need a bank account.
• By September 2026, about Rs 1 billion had been paid to around 100,000 people this way.

Official website and fake sites

The official channels are 1000, the PITB app, and mkb.punjab.gov.pk. The website ends in .punjab.gov.pk. Sites with names like "mkbpunjab", "maryamkobatain1000" or "mkb.org.pk" are not official. Do not enter your CNIC or pay anything on them. The government never charges for Maryam Ko Batain.
