Rs 10 lakh off a new tractor for farmers

The CM Punjab Green Tractor Scheme gives farmers in Punjab a Rs 10 lakh (Rs 1 million) subsidy on a new, locally made tractor. Phase 5 is open now: 9,500 high-powered tractors of 75 to 125 horsepower, for farmers who own at least 7 acres. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz opened the Phase 5 portal on 23 September 2026. Apply free at gts.punjab.gov.pk.

Phase 5 at a glance

Eligibility: who can apply

These are the rules printed on the official Phase 5 application form:

• You must be a resident of Punjab.
• You must have a valid computerised CNIC.
• You must have verified ownership of at least 7 acres of agricultural land.
• You cannot apply if you already got a tractor in an earlier phase, or won one in the wheat campaign or a crop productivity competition.
• Kissan Card defaulters cannot apply.

The Agriculture Department checks your land and details against revenue records and can send someone to verify them in the field.

5 acres or 7 acres?

You will see both numbers. The programme's general poster and the earlier phases used 5 acres or more, and Dawn reported 5 acres at the Phase 5 launch. The official Phase 5 form says at least 7 acres, so plan on 7. If you own between 5 and 7 acres, call 0800-17000 before you apply.

How to apply

If your mauza (village) land record is computerised:

1. 1Open gts.punjab.gov.pk. Type the address yourself.
2. 2Enter your CNIC, mobile number and land details.
3. 3Choose the tractor company and model (75 to 125 hp). You cannot change it later, so decide first.
4. 4Submit and keep a screenshot.

If your mauza is not computerised:

1. 1Download the paper application form from agripunjab.gov.pk, or collect it free from your Agriculture Extension office.
2. 2Fill in your name, CNIC number, mobile number, total land as per the revenue record, district, tehsil, mauza, the name of an heir, and your tractor choice.
3. 3Attach a copy of your CNIC and a copy of your current fard (land ownership record).
4. 4Submit it to your district's Agriculture (Extension) office.

After the ballot

If you win the digital ballot, you get an allotment letter. Within the time it gives you, you must pay:

• your share of the tractor price (the price minus the Rs 10 lakh subsidy)
• the registration fee, card fee, number plate fee and transaction fee

The tractor stays registered in your name for at least 3 years. Selling it before then is an offence, and you would have to pay back the subsidy.

Phase 4 and earlier phases

• Phase 4 (50 to 65 hp): 10,000 tractors with a Rs 7.5 lakh subsidy each. 213,637 farmers applied and 128,757 were found eligible. The digital ballot was held on 23 September 2026, the same day Phase 5 opened.
• Phases 1 to 3: 24,000 tractors with a Rs 10 lakh subsidy each.
• The government has set aside Rs 17.6 billion for 19,500 tractors in 2026-27.

Beware of fake websites and agents

• The only official portal is gts.punjab.gov.pk, and the Agriculture Department's site is agripunjab.gov.pk. Both end in .gov.pk. Many private sites copy the scheme's name and logo.
• The application is free. You pay nothing until you have won the ballot and received an official allotment letter.
• Nobody can "guarantee" you a tractor. Winners are picked by computer ballot.

I applied in Phase 4 and did not win. Can I apply again?

The Phase 5 form only bars farmers who already received a tractor. If you did not win, you can apply for Phase 5, as long as you meet the 7-acre rule and want a 75 to 125 hp tractor.
