The Benazir Taleemi Wazaif 2026 programme pays a school stipend every quarter, meaning every three months, for each child of a mother who gets BISP Benazir Kafaalat. It covers Class 1 to Class 12. After the Rs 500 increase announced in March 2026, it pays Rs 2,500 to Rs 5,000 per child each quarter, and girls get Rs 500 more than boys.
The stipend continues only while the child keeps at least 70% attendance at school. Enrolment is free at your BISP tehsil office. In the 2026-27 budget, the government said the programme will be widened to reach 9.2 million children.

Why you may see different amounts online: the rates have changed several times, and old figures are still on many pages.
- June 2023 (Dawn): primary Rs 1,500 boys and Rs 2,000 girls, up to Rs 3,500 and Rs 4,000 at higher secondary. BISP's own programme page still showed these older rates when we checked.
- June 2024 (APP, the state news agency): primary Rs 2,000 boys and Rs 2,500 girls; secondary Rs 3,000 and Rs 3,500; higher secondary Rs 4,000 and Rs 4,500.
- March 2026: BISP announced an extra Rs 500 per student. The table above is the June 2024 rates plus Rs 500. ProPakistani published the same figures in May 2026.
We could not find a full rate table published by BISP itself since the March 2026 increase. We also could not confirm whether the Rs 3,000 girls' bonus was raised. If your payment does not match, ask at your BISP tehsil office or call 0800-26477.
Who can apply
- The child's mother must be an active BISP Kafaalat beneficiary. If she is not, the family first needs the free NSER survey. See our BISP Kafaalat and 8171 guide.
- The child must be admitted to a school or college, from Class 1 to Class 12.
- The child must have a NADRA B-Form (also called CRC).
- Age limits set by BISP: 4 to 12 years for primary, 8 to 18 for secondary, 13 to 22 for higher secondary.
- The child must keep 70% attendance every quarter to keep getting paid.
How to enrol your child
- Go to your nearest BISP tehsil office with your child and the documents below.
- The BISP officer registers the child and gives you an enrolment slip.
- Take the slip to your child's school. The school fills in the class, section, teacher's name, and the head teacher signs and stamps it.
- Take the completed slip back to the BISP office for verification.
- After that, the school reports attendance, and the stipend is paid each quarter if the child meets the 70% rule.
If your child changes school, tell your BISP office so the record can be updated. Otherwise the attendance cannot be tracked and the stipend may stop.
Documents you need
- CNIC of the mother (the Kafaalat beneficiary)
- Child's NADRA B-Form / CRC
- The mobile number registered with BISP
- The school admission slip, verified by the teacher
Beware of fake websites and agents
- Enrolment is free. Nobody can charge you to register your child or to "release" a stipend. Report anyone who asks for money.
- Enrolment is done in person at a BISP office. We found no official online form. Websites that ask for your CNIC to "register for Taleemi Wazaif online" are not BISP.
- BISP messages come only from 8171. An SMS from any other number is fake.
- The official website is bisp.gov.pk. The free helpline is 0800-26477.

Frequently asked questions
How do I register for Benazir Taleemi Wazaif?
Take your child, the child's B-Form, your CNIC and your BISP-registered mobile number to your BISP tehsil office. Get the enrolment slip, have the school fill it in and stamp it, and return it to the BISP office. It is free.
What is the Benazir Taleemi Wazaif amount in 2026?
After the March 2026 increase: primary Rs 2,500 (boys) and Rs 3,000 (girls); secondary Rs 3,500 and Rs 4,000; higher secondary Rs 4,500 and Rs 5,000, every quarter. BISP has not published a full new table we could check, so treat these as the best available figures.
Can I check Taleemi Wazaif online or through 8171?
Sending your CNIC to 8171 shows whether the mother is eligible for BISP Kafaalat, which is required for Taleemi Wazaif. We could not confirm a separate official SMS or online check for a child's Taleemi Wazaif status. Ask at your BISP tehsil office or call 0800-26477.
Why did my child's stipend stop?
The most common reasons are attendance below 70% in a quarter, a change of school that was not reported to BISP, or the mother no longer being eligible for Kafaalat. Visit your BISP tehsil office to find out.
